RTK Dungeon Crawl - Triage

Triage is the first book of my Doctor Dom series. It's been on my mind recently, because my current writing project is book 4 of this series.

How about an excerpt?

Patrick reached forward, removed the gag.
“Have you had anal sex before?”
I nodded.
“Then you already know the nozzle isn’t too long; your body can take it. Relax, and if you have concerns, talk through them with me.”
His tone was steady; firm; reassuring. I nodded again, his steadiness causing calm to spread through me. “Yes, Dr. Anderson,” I said compliantly.
He smiled at me, warmth in his eyes. That warmth was like a favourite blanket; seductive, addictive.
He didn’t put the gag back in my mouth; and I was grateful. There was an ache in my jaw, and I would have been in a fair amount of pain had he left it there much longer.
The nozzle was at my asshole now, and it slid in easily into my lubricated cavity. I could feel him push it in; and I again forced myself to relax, whimpering a little. He stopped when he heard the whimper, and didn’t continue till I nodded again. A warmth flooded through me as I took in his concern.
I smiled at him, letting the pleasure show in my eyes; revealing my appreciation. “Please don’t stop, Dr. Anderson,” I said softly.
He looked at me for a second; the expression in his eyes unreadable. “Unexpected,” he muttered again. And then he pushed the nozzle in all the way, and started the flow of water.
At first, the warmth of the water felt good as it gushed inside of me, but then, the pressure grew uncomfortable, and I groaned, mumbling a faint protest.
“I’m afraid you’ll have to take it, Miss Preston, you’ll need to be properly cleaned before your exam.” Patrick’s voice was cool, professional, and my pussy predictably twitched in response. Gods, I was aroused by his voice; he didn’t even need to touch me. I focused on the wetness of my pussy; the aching of my nipples as the liquid poured into me, and my stomach began to feel bloated and cramped from the feeling of fullness.
I could feel his fingers on my ass again; the nozzle slid out; a plug was pushed in. “You’ll need to keep it in you for fifteen minutes,” he said, his voice firm. I gulped.
“Patrick,” I moaned.
A silent, raised eyebrow. An expressionless look that somehow made my pussy clench again in arousal.
“Dr. Anderson,” I corrected myself. “I don’t think I can…”
He grinned at me now; he had something planned; I could feel the waves of anticipation radiate from him.
“Fortunately,” he said, his voice layered with amusement, “I have a plan to distract you.”
He walked away; again I heard drawers open and close; and now, I could hear a tap running. “What is he going to do?” I wondered, feeling the pleasurable lurch in me as I thought about the ways he could use my body. He was right; I was already distracted from the cramping in my stomach. Clever Patrick.
“I need a clear view for the vaginal exam, Miss Preston,” he said, walking near my face, showing me the contents of his hands. Shaving brush. Razor. Shaving cream. Water. For all that was merciful, he was going to shave my pussy.
Lust shot through my body as I imagined his hands spreading apart my pussy lips, running the razor carefully against my flesh; I trembled as I imagined his fingers accidentally flicking against my clitoris; and then flicking it again with deliberation; I groaned as I imagined the lazy circles the shaving brush would trace on my heated skin, the feel of the washcloth wiping me down.

I looked at him; my thoughts clearly visible in my eyes. “Yes,” I said simply. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Tuesday TV Thoughts - Once Upon A Time

I turned to my boyfriend after last week's episode, and I said, "Well, that was a bit of a waste of space." Thankfully, I really quite enjoyed this week's episode.

Random thoughts:

- I'm not sure how Snow White can cast the curse. I mean, she's not a witch. She has no magic powers. How? Did I miss something?

- Glinda the Good Witch seemed like a bit of a random add-in. Plus, she doesn't actually help. (I wonder if that's a call back to Wizard of Oz, where Glinda tells Dorothy that the powers to return to Kansas are actually with her. So, in this case, the power to fight the Wicked Witch is already with them - ie. Emma.)

- Hook looks pretty yummy tied up. (Wait, was that bad of me?)

- In many ways, this harks back to earlier seasons - the curse gets rolled back about half-way through, and then the characters need to figure out how to belong to two worlds.

- Okay, how ridiculously hokey was the "We've shared one heart" bit? I threw up in my mouth a little.

- I wonder why the fairy tale book only appears to Snow White.

Now, off to write. This blog post was procrastination, people.

Indie Flutters today at the Butterfly-o-Meter!

Hello, lovely readers!

The awesome Shurrn, who wrote the loveliest review of The Professor's Pet on Goodreads, has featured me today on her Indie Flutters feature, which celebrates Indie Authors. Check it out! I talk about what I'm working on, whether I prefer coffee or tea, and many other random things!

Vikings!

So, there's the primary writing project, which is the next volume of Doctor Dom. (Tentatively titled Relapse.)

And then, when I get stuck with that, I've been working on a Viking-esque saga, because hey, why not? My YouTube history is rich with stories of Viking ships (relevant to the story, my warriors are about to set off on a long journey). My Google search terms in recent times have been filled with things like Viking war ships, Viking names, Viking prayers...

And of course, there's this amazing scene from the 13th Warrior. (I've seen the movie a very long time ago, and remember nothing of it. Time to re-watch.)

Do you want to read the story as I'm writing it? Fair warning, updates will be unpredictable, and usually are a representation of how stuck I am with Doctor Dom. (I do write quite a bit on Literotica, so stick around and read other stories posted there as well!)

Magic Everywhere - my first Permafree book!

ETA: It appears that Magic Everywhere is only free on Amazon.com. I'm really sorry, guys! Report it to Amazon - they should price match. It's a bit of a hoopla they make you go through to make a book permafree.

****

It's all very exciting! I've been trying to get Magic Everywhere to go free for a while now, and it's finally free.

Go download it! Spread the word! Leave a review, and I'll love you forever!

The Blurb:

*** Fantasy; Bondage; Erotica; Magic.***

NOTE: Magic Everywhere is a 8000 word BDSM fantasy novella.

In Raan, there is magic and dark fantasy; there's erotica; there's dungeons and whips and chains; there are strong men and strong women, and the connections that bind them; and hovering in the darkness, there are forces that control them all.

Magic Everywhere is the story of Salif Al-Hasn, the Mage-Prince of Argentia. Fifteen years ago, Salif fled his kingdom, leaving behind the girl he loved, in the face of a memory so toxic, he has buried it deep and never let it surface since... But one night, Salif comes back to his hotel room, and there's a girl waiting there, a pleasure slave of Argentia.

Contains BDSM, flogging, anal sex, explicit sex, and so much more...

RTK Dungeon Crawl - The Alien Trains the Virgin

One of the advantages of blog crawls - they remove scheduling decisions from you. The post needs to go up by a deadline, and I'm the kind of person that works best with an externally imposed deadline.

My first time participating in the RTK Dungeon crawl! I thought I'd put in an excerpt from The Alien Trains the Virgin

The excerpt

I nodded compliantly and lay down on the examination table. He pushed a final button in, and he looked at me. “Enjoy, little human.” He laughed sadistically, a sound that made me even more nervous. He then stepped out of my line of vision and I had no idea if he was still there.

For the first few minutes, I just lay there. Nothing happened. My mind began to wander, and I reflected upon the last couple of days. Bob abducting me at Larry’s behest. The machine. Squeezing and pumping my breasts. Pumping lube into my vagina and anus. A massive butt plug invading my ass. Then, Bob’s twin cocks deflowering my virginity as I whimpered in lust and longing.

Slowly, I felt something. A rope-like arm snaking over my wrists, pulling them up and fastening them over my head. Two rope-like arms on my ankles, pulling them apart as well till every muscle in my legs screamed out in agony.

My head was lifted up so that I could watch what was about to happen to my body, and it increased both my terror and my arousal. A long probe swung towards me, heading to my anus. I struggled in my bonds, but an arm swung towards me with what looked like a cattle prod attached to it. It swung to my nipple, as I struggled.

“No, please, no,” I begged, but to no avail. The cattle prod sent a ripple of electricity through my nipple that had me screaming in agony. The procedure was repeated on the other nipple, and I screamed yet again. But strangely, I felt an ache in my pussy; a fierce arousal as I responded the pain.

“In case it isn’t obvious, Suzie,” Bob’s voice spoke in my head. “Struggling will get you punished.” He sounded slightly amused. “Although you seem to enjoy your punishment quite a bit,” he added.

“This is funny to you?” I thought at him acidly, but he didn’t reply. I was alone once more.

The probe resumed its aborted path towards my anus. I whimpered in fear, but I kept still; the cattle prod was an effective threat. The probe wriggled against my anus, searching for a path inside. I kept my asshole tightly clenched. Whatever that probe was going to do to me, I didn’t want it.

I felt the probe wriggle some more, and then, it drew back slightly. The cattle prod swung towards my anus, and I screamed as a painful shock hit my tender ring of flesh. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” I begged the faceless machine. “Please, no more, I’ll be good.”

This time, I relaxed my muscles as the probe slid into me with no lube. I clenched automatically, thinking it would be cold, but it was actually as warm as a finger. It wriggled in, moving just like the finger of a lover, going deeper and deeper within me. A very long-fingered lover. Wait, how long was this probe?

The Alien Trains the Virgin - Cover Reveal

You know, I will be the first person to admit that this isn't high literature. But you know what? It was solidly fun to write! It's currently making its way through the KDP approval process, and I'm hoping it will be available for sale tomorrow.

10,000 words. 99c. Just a fun little short.

Movies, Music, TV and more...

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

So - movies. Here's a little secret, my boyfriend and I have the worst luck picking movies. I think we've maybe seen three movies together that we both liked. And about a hundred that we've hated.

Sometime last week, we broke our shitty movie streak by watching the Painted Veil. He picked it, because I tend to less intellectually challenging movies. But it had Edward Norton in it, and I love Edward Norton. What a good movie it was! It's got romance and infidelity and heartbreak in it, and I adored it.

Another favourite Edward Norton movie of mine is the Illusionist. Also well worth watching.

Music: Do you ever hear about something, and then find you hear about the same thing everywhere? For me, recently, that's been Sigur Ros. I'm very non-in-touch with music trends and current music because I take transit to work, and just don't listen to the radio. (Or hang out with cool music people.)

I first heard of Sigur Ros when I was reading the Boss. (Side note - for a day there, my book was listed on the same page as the Boss. You have no idea how surreal it is to have your book listed side-by-side with a book that you adore. It's seriously such a trip.) Then I heard a Sigur Ros reference on the radio. Then something else. I'm listening to Brennisteinn right now.

Finally, Once Upon a Time. I felt bad at last week's disparaging words about Neil, because I was actually quite sad at the burial scene. One of the cool things that I've liked about this show is how much backstory Rumpelstiltskin has. This week just added to it - with the Wicked Witch doing everything she's doing to get another chance with Rumple. It's intricate, layered writing. (For this character. I find both Sleeping Beauty and Charming sort of one-dimensional. And Emma. I like Belle, but I think that has more to do with me really liking the Beauty and the Beast story than anything else.)

Free book promo - worth it?

So, I don't know if y'all noticed, but I ran a free book promo last week. It did pretty damn well. I mean, I didn't crack the Top 100 Free list, but here's a #humblebrag picture.

Yup. #1 Free book in BDSM. Which is the genre of the book, and it's nice to be recognized. In all, about 4000 people downloaded the book. (4000 people worldwide - it was about 3300 in the US store.) It was a good week.

That being said, most authors don't just give away a book for the heck of it. We do it because we are hoping for backlist sales, reviews, and so on. How did I do on those metrics?

Before I go there, let's talk about what I wanted to achieve with the free promo.

1. Exposure. Honestly, the biggest reason I ran this. I just wanted more people to know I exist. I'm a new author (March was month 6.) When people read my writing, they seem to like it. I had everything to gain and nothing to lose by striving for greater exposure.

2. Backlist sales. I've been experimenting with different end-matter. Teaching Maya had only 3 things in the end notes.

- A link to my mailing list and blog.
- A list of all my books, with links to the Amazon US store.
- Most importantly, an extended preview of the Professor's Pet. (The first chapter and a half - about 6000 words.) The purpose of this was to see how much lift I could get Professor's Pet from the free promo of Teaching Maya

3. Mailing list subscribers and reviews. A distant third goal. If I could get a few additional reviews for Teaching Maya and a few more subscribers for the mailing list, it would have been a nice bonus.

So - how'd I do?

1. I got exposure. (See picture above.) Let's see. A BookBub promo costs about $200 for a free book. (I have tried this once - they rejected Teaching Maya. I'm going to try again but in the meanwhile, I thought I'd make my own luck.)

I'd say the cost of my free promo was about $60. Tops. None of my books sell gang-busters, so this was a somewhat optimistic estimate of the sales I'd lose from that one book for the 5-day period. For $60 - I made the #1 spot on BDSM. I'd say that's worth it.

2. Backlist sales. I don't bother keeping track of daily sales for each of the Amazon stores, just the US one. Comparing March's sales at Day 6 to April's sales at Day 6, I'm up 28%. That's decent lift. (It's not great in terms of absolute numbers, but it's better than nothing, and so I'll take it.) I'll update lift numbers at the end of the month as well, since there's probably some medium term effect to running a free promo.

3. Mailing list subscribers and reviews. Possibly the worst performing area. I got one review for the book, and maybe a handful of mailing list subscribers. To be expected, I guess. I've only started writing reviews for books after I started writing myself, and understood what a giant pain in the ass it is to get a review. Most readers just don't bother to review, and that's just the nature of the beast.

Conclusion:

Will I do it again? With some minor reservations. I need exposure. I need visibility. I'll take it any way I can get it.

However, in the future, I'll definitely make the first book of a series free, because that's clearly a good strategy. I'll definitely run a free promo on Triage sometime - but probably after I finish the series.

And the mailing list pitch? Here it is.

Oh, and a bit of a humble brag. Ok, who am I kidding? I'm just shamelessly bragging here. I know it doesn't really count because it's free, but this still gave me quite an ego-boost. #2 in the BDSM store? Yup. That's me.

Tuesday TV thoughts (spoilers ahead!)

Before I forget, writing progress. I finished my Jake and Emily short story. Which could or could not be the start of a book called the Professor's Girlfriend. Do you want to read it? Subscribe to my New Release mailing list! I'll email it out to subscribers April 15.

Now, to TV.

How I Met Your Mother is over. Sigh.

The world (well, the subset of the world who watched this show) was probably evenly divided between people who loved the finale and people who hated the finale.

I hated the finale.

In the last two years, the show's largely been carried by Neil Patrick Harris. To just write off the Robin Barney thing that easily? Meh. And the blue French horn? Double meh.

Oh. I'm a sucker for good fairy tales, and I'm now up-to-date (thank you Netflix!) with Once Upon a Time. The latest episode - was I supposed to be heartbroken that Neil died? First, it was fairly predictable - the way the writers were setting up the Hook-Neil-Emma triangle, it was clear that something was going to happen to resolve it one way or another. Plus, Neil was kind of whiny.

I'm glad they brought back Mr. Gold. He's by far the sexiest character on that show. (A rather distant second is Hook, actually, with Robin Hood not being that far behind. Hmm. Evidently, I really like my bad boys.)

Any other really good TV I should be watching? I don't actually have cable, so Netflix-friendly show recommendations would be great!
